Hey all,

As I await ROFR (98% certain I'll pass) a friend asked me a question. They would like to rent points, but know that if I become a member, it would be "safer" for them to rent the points from me. I won't have the necessary points for them to rent (and frankly I want MY points anyway).

If I wanted to rent them pioints, I could pay another DVC'er to transfer points into my account, but what do I need to ensure that I get what they want?

My home resort will be BWV..

If they want to stay at BWV - all I need are BWV points transferred to my account that won't expire until their ressie would end. Correct?

If they want to stay at BCV - can I have BCV points transferred into my account and book BCV @ the 11th month window?

Thanks all,

Yes, assuming you want to make the reservation before the 7 month window opens. I fyou are making the reservation after the 7month window, you don't need BWV points - any resort's points will do. In both cases, the points you receive would need to be valid for the dates of stay.

Thanks all,
Yes, but that will require MS to do some manual tracking. Be sure you tell the CM who is doing the transfer that you intend to make a BCV reservation. You may have to wait a day or two to make the reservation from the date of the actual transfer. That shouldn't be a problem - just an extra phone call or two on your part.

Best wishes -

The transfered points will have the same characteristics as in the original owner's account. For example, if you transferred a point from June 2005 UY, then it will expire on May 31, 2006. So all reservation must be completed before it expires.

That's the way it's supposed to work but it isn't how it usually works in practice.
