I've planned a big family trip (~18-20 People) for Columbus day weekend this year using our DVC Points. Reservations were easily made at the 11 month window. However, after some considerations we decided to extend our stay and go down wednesday instead of friday.

3 of the 5 families were waitlisted at AKV and I made back up reservations at Saratoga Springs. Since then 2 of the 3 waitlists have come through, however, I've noticed that they have a different reservation number for the first part (the part that was waitlisted) and the original reservations.

A couple questions regarding this:

1) Are the going to have to switch rooms because of this, and check-out and re-check in? They are booked for the same room type for the entire trip.

2) Are they in fact considered seperate reservations? Could you book the DDP for 1 of the reservations and not the other? For example, My sister was booked at Saratoga for Wed and Thursday nights, and AKV for Fri, Sat and Sun. Could she get the DDP just for the Fri/Sat/Sun reservation, even though her waitlist came through?

TIA

You have a better chance of staying in the same room and not having to check out and check in if you link the reservations. The down side of linking is that you would have to be on the DDP for both reservations.
