hey guys,
just wondering how everyone goes about doing this.....Do you usually make a PS for everywhere you eat 90 days in advance like (Sci-Fi, 50's Prime-time, San Angel Inn, etc....) or just the more popular stuff like character dining.......I didn't know if I should plan out our dining for every meal everyday we are there and make ressie's 90 days in advance for everything? just wondering how everyone does this.....thanks guys.

hi
personally i do book and plan our meals 90 days out  mainly because i love the planning and calling wdw makes me feel closer to our holiday :)

We're on the MYW Dining plan and we PS'ed our Table Service meals for each day. I have found that unless you are going to one of the high end restaurants, or CRT, the 90 day advance ressie only needs to be a guide. I think I finally called to book our PSs ~75 days out and got every restaurant we wanted, at the times we wanted. Even made a change yesterday (4 days before travel and got a PS for 4 at Teppenyaki, exactly when we wnated it.

I'd reccomend that you go ahead an schedule your PSs, when you know what you want. Try to be done by 45-50 days out. If you want CRT, V&A, or HDDR, then call right at the 90 day mark for those (Hddr can be booked 2 yrs in advance) You can always change the or cancel them, but they're good to have and often necessary with crowd levels very high.

Our PSs
- Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)
- Chef Mickeys (B'fast)
- Whispering Canyon (Dinner)
- Ohana (B'fast)
- Alfredo's (Dinner)
- Teppenyaki (Dinner)

When I was there in January and again in May people without PS were being turned away from LTT, CP, Mama Melrose, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, and of course CRT.

In fact I had a really hard time not laughing at a young family in January. They were just ahead of us as we were checking in for our 10:20 PS for CRT. The young man said they had just heard that you could dine with the Princesses in the castle and wanted a table by the window please. The look on the CMs face, as well as everyone else who heard him was priceless. This young family was just so excited and the dad's voice carried so loudly. He seemed so proud that he had heard about CRT and was going to be able to give his daughters such a treat. The CM asked him if they had a PS and the poor guy gave him a blank look and said 'huh, uh no, I don't think so, but we're willing to wait for a window table if we need to'. The CM then very gravely told him that that wouldn't be possible and before he could explain about PS, the guy said well if they had to, they would take a 'booth', but they really wanted a table by a window. I know it was more sad than funny, expecially looking at the excited, happy faces on those two little girls, but almost everyone around there was muffling laughter. This poor family didn't have a clue and had apparently just found at the night before that there was even a restaraunt in the castle. It took a few minutes for the CM to get through to them that PS had to be made 90 days in advance. For some reason they just couldn't seem to grasp that no tables were available even if they were willing to wait. Again it was sad not funny, but at the same time when you consider how many people get up in the wee hours across the nation every morning in order to book CRT at exactly 7:00am exactly 90 days in advance and sometimes have several people on the phone to do so and this guy just calmly walks up and expects to not only walk in, but to be able to specify the type of table he wanted was funny.

Even if you are unsure about everywhere you want to eat make a ps anyways , especially for the more popular ones. With the dining package there have been alot more people eatting on property at table service restaurants. I wouldnt chance not being able to walk up and not getting in or even calling and not being able to get the ps or time you want. I know it is hard to make dining ps's 90 days out beccause park hours are not out etc. but its worth it in the long run. If you cant make then you just cancel or try to change your times when the park hours are released etc.
