question regarding kids and ID's

Hello! We will be using all of our vouchers for the fast pass option as we have premium annual passes. I know for the two adults we have to show ID but I didn't realize I needed it for my kids! I am having a hard time locating one of their birth certificates and we leave in 10 days! Is there anything I can do to prove it is who I say? Would it help at all that they have had annual passes the last 3 years? I know it probably doesn't but I am interested in any advice. Could I get something from their school to take? I found my sons birth certificate but I can't find my daughters and I went to order additional copies and it says it doesn't gaurantee it will arrive in time. Any ideas?

HMM I understood it had to be birth cert. no other ID for kids. Is there anyway you can pick up the copy or have it shipped faster? I am so glad I saw that right away since I had to dig and search for my kids too.l Good luck I hope it all works out for you

You can also use passports for the kids if they have one.

I would try contacting the school and seeing if they have a copy you can make a copy of. If your child goes to school they should have a copy. Hope this helps.

Government issued photo IDs are accepted - for a child, this usually means a passport.

For the Birthday promotion, a certified copy of the birth certificate, not a photocopy, was required. CF's sticky thread also says the same for GAD, but the official FAQ only mentions a "copy", so I don't know if they relaxed this a bit.

You could try calling Disney Ticketing, but I wouldn't trust the answer since they don't deal with the program day to day.

Can you go to the county records office where your daughter was born? You should be able to do it in person.

We went to the city where our kids were born and ordered the Birth cert. before lunch, went and grabbed lunch and came back to pick them up. This is easy for us as we are only 3 towns away.
They were $10.00 each. If you are close buy to your daughters birth place this may be an option for you.

The Disney GAD site does specifically say that school ID is not accepted, but like a previous post mentioned that the school may have a copy of the birth certificate. How about sports teams? They might may have a copy. I know every sports team seems to need to keep copies of the birth certificates to prove age.

Unfortunatly she was born about 1000 miles from here! But-as luck would have it-guess what my DH found tonight?? her birth certificate!! YAY!!

FYI, I asked Cheshire Figment, and they HAVE changed it such that a regular copy of the birth certificate is acceptable. Passports or other government issued picture IDs is preferred though.

And, of course, for someone 18 or older a National (Federal) or State/Province issued photo ID is mandatory.

I'm wondering if I'm gonna have a problem with my daughters' names. Their birth certificates say Emelia, but I put the GAD down as Emmy and for Therese, I put down Tess?!?
We haven't dropped off our items to the shelter yet. I wonder if I go into my account and change their names if it will mess up our service?

One thing parents may want to check into as well is a state Id card. I know here kids can get them through our Driver's license branch. My kids all have Military ID cards (dependent kids under 10 can have these if parents are divorced or dual military otherwise dependent kids ages 10 and up are issued them) which is what we will use. Of course my almost 17 year old has his driver's permit so he can use that as well.

I was there this morning and I didn't have ID for my son, they still gave him the free GAD ticket. Not sure if I got lucky or they are not as strict about the id's. DS was right there with us...

Ask your school secretary to make a copy of the birth certificate. They should have it in your child's permanent file. We do this for parents every now and then.

Hoping a CM can answer this- My girls passports/birth records are not in english... will this be a problem? They are US citizens (through adoption).

The passport does not have to be a US passport. As long as there is the photo and the name and birth date can be seen there should not be any problem. The only potential difficulty I could see is if everything were to be in a language that uses symbols/numbers that would not be readable (such as Chiinese ideography) by a person who is used to the English alphabet.

I understand these are the rules, but I hate that I have to travel with these important documents. I have three adopted kids with foreign bc/passports.

I wish there was another way to verify identity. Disney never asks for ID for hotel information, key to the kingdom, etc. They even get on a plane without ID.
