The Disney website gives the rate for the value season at the resorts. My question is....is this the discounted price with the DisneyClub card or is there still an additional 20% off the value season rate?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

The rate is generally cheaper to everyone during value season. I doubt the rate you saw was the Disney Club rate. They do not post it on their site, you have to call or email to get a quote. According to the package I received, you get 20% off of selected Deluxe, Home Away from Home and Moderate hotels during value season. You can also get 10% off of the value resorts at that time. If you need more specific info on the hotels listed, please feel free to email me. Good luck!

This gives you membership in the Entertainment card. I just called the Swan/Dolphin (which is owned by Starwood and listed as a 50% off hotel). They gave me rates for 1 night in August of $170-$187.50. Much better than the $250-$460 Disney quoted.

How do you know which resorts are offering discounts when?? I want to know about Christmas 2001. I could go most anytime but would like to get the best rate. Any advice??

There usually aren't any MKC (Disney Club now) or AP rates for December. Holiday season starts sometime right around Christmas and is MUCH higher. It runs until New Years I think. Sorry--I'm not nearly as good as some of these kind folks for specifics, BUT let me encourage you to go ahead and make a reservation now. The day after Thanksgiving was a great time for us 2 years ago. We stayed for 4 nights and booked the Candlelight Processional package. Disney will open up (or has in the past) the CP and a Holiday package--where you get a special rate and a ticket to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party--similar to an E-night--only better!

The CP and MVMCP have been the same rate in the past, just with different perks. You can do both--no more discount though. For example, we booked the CP and then found out about MVMCP--so we bought the ticket only for that event (again--like purchasing an e-night for around $30).

CRO will have availability at most all of the hotels, but the best savings (percentage wise) is on the Deluxes. Make a reservation for what you can afford without a discount. Pay your deposit--and then transfer it if you can find a better deal later. I don't think those packages will open up until Aug or Sept--but again--some kind soul here will remember better than me.

Christmas at Disney is awesome. Friday after Thanksgiving was crowded, but it cleared out by Sunday and was very light the rest of our time there. Decorations are already up--it's lots of fun!

Thanks MissingMickey!! We were thinking about going around December 14-21. I have always gone in the summer and have never been at Christmas. I can't wait to see all the decorations. Christmas is my most favorite time of the year. We have stayed at All Star, Fort Wilderness and Dixie Landings. It doesn't much matter where we stay as long as we stay on site. I just want to get the best deal I can this time because I have a lot of specific restaurants we are going to this time and we also want to go to La Nouba.
