question regarding confirming reservation

I have arranged to rent points from a DVC owner. I was given a confirmation number and when I attempted to call and confirm that the reservation had indeed been made, there was no record of the reservation. The number I had was not good. they also didn't have my name or the name of the person who sold me the points. I have not sent payment yet but want to make sure I have a ressie before I do, I called the main disney line 407-824-4321 they could find no record. Is this the correct number? Or do I call another place to confirm the reservation for DVc

The above number does not look like member services.

I can't give you the member services phone number to check the res because I'll get flamed beyond belief. I do think you should have some way to check the validity of your ressie though.

Maybe a moderator can PM it to you.

I don't know any other way.

Do not send any money until you have proof that they ressie is made. I'm not saying there isn't a ressie just suggesting that you verify the ressie first, either by phone or by recieving the confirmation in the mail.

I don't believe the regular Disney number would know if a DVC ressie had been made. Why don't you ask the DVC member to fax or mail you a copy?

DVC reservations are done totally seperate from regular Disney reservations. You can contact DVC Member Services at 407-566-3800. They will probably ask for a member number. You can explain to them that your are confirming a reservation that a member has already made. I believe they will do this. You cannot make any changes to the reservation, that has to be done by the member from whom you are renting.

I just rented points last week for a trip leaving next week. Since it is so last minute, the member I rented from will probably not receive the confirmation papers before I go. If they do, they will fax or email them to me. So I just called member services and the first thing that they asked for was my member #. I just said I was not a member (yet) & a friend made the reservation for me and I was just calling to verify it. She asked me for my last name and checkin date. Then she found the reservation and confirmed it. That was it.
