Question regarding annual passes.

Hi Everybody,

I have a question for annual pass holders or anyone else who has an opinion. We are going to Disney for 9 nights this summer for our anniversary and then may going again over Christmas. I can get the 5 day military tickets once, but for the rest of the 9 days and the trip for Christmas, I will have to purchase more tickets. We are considering upgrading our military discounted tickets to annual passes. Disney World CM's said that we can only use the amount we paid for the discounted military passes towards the AP.

So, I guess I am asking if annual passes would be worth it. We will have other opportunities to go to Disney World next spring when they will still be valid as well.

Also would you get the premium or regular annual pass? We have never been to the water parks or to Disney Quest.

Thanks!

Rebecca

I'd get the AP's. The break even point, all else being equal, is right in that 8-10 day range I believe. So if you think there's any chance of spending more days than that in the parks (if even for just a few hours some days), want to be able to park hop, and want the flexibility of stretching those days out over at least 12 months, the AP is the best bargain.

As for which one to get, that depends on if and how many times you think you might visit water parks or DisneyQuest. If it's 0-3 times get the AP, if it's 4 or more, get the PAP.

Correction: I was wrong. The break even is probably more like 12 days. I was comparing the wrong price lists.

Don't forget the AP discounts you can take advantage of too! More info on discounts and benefits HERE

Are you referring to the 5 day tickets as part of the Armed Forces Salute package Disney has? I don't believe those are upgradable at all.

If these are regular military tickets, you may be able to upgrade them, but I believe you have to do so at Shades of Green, not at the normal locations.

The 5 $99 companion tickets can only be upgraded to an AP - but won't be bridged like other upgrades. The free complimentary soldier ticket can not be upgraded at all. Just be careful when you do the $99 tickets, because if you add the $25 water option then you will only be able to upgrade it to the PAP
