Question re: Space Mountain

I am taking my family to Disneyland, (my Husband and sons first time) and saw the mention that Space Mountain is to be changed again for the Year of a Million Dreams. Does anyone know when in the Spring of 2007 it is supposed to be completed? I would hate for them to miss it.

At this point I don't think there is a set time frame.

My guess would be "spring break" ie the week before and after easter.

The only change in the ride is the sound track. As far as I know the new rockin' sound track with be an alternate to the normal one, and will run in the evening. They have been running it during grad nights this year.

This was the plan but there were too many problems with the change over, as there were new effects etc that would have caused a total shut down of the attraction to do the change over.

Now it seems they will run either "rockin space mountain" (formally rock-it mnt) OR Space Mnt 2.0.

So will Space Mountain be shut down for a certain period of time to make the change? I thought the change had already been made and was running on Grad Nights.

The change over is on a per day basis for gradnight. During the day it is regular. Then when the close at night, before grad night starts they change it over. In the morning when grad night is over they change it back.

they would have to "shut down" in the sense the changes would require a switch from one set of programing to another. So they would have to cycle everyone through the ride, shut down Space programming, turn on Rock-it programming and "reopen." The amount of time needed for this is unknown (to me at least).
