Question re Shareholders/Annual Pass

Hi there!
I hope that some of you can help me with a little problem. We are moving to Paris in February and we are currently wondering what the best DLP experience would be. We are interested in the advantages of the shareholder club and the Dream passport, since both say something about invitation to special events. These events interest me a lot, because I would love to feel as if I was something really important to them and not just a normal passholder/shareholder. So my question to Dream holders, shareholders or both is: Did you get invited in the past to a few special events? I read a few reports by Alain of the Disneyandmore blog, where he got invited to meetings with imagineers and advance screenings of Disney Dreams, although I don't know if he's a passholder or a shareholder. Also do you think that they'll offer anything about the upcoming Ratatouille ride?
And according to this side: http://www.finanzen.net/aktien/Euro_Disney_SCA-Aktie
a share costs 4,74 so does that mean that I would have to pay around 470 Euros to become club member?
I appreciate any answer and thank you in advance,
Greetings,
Anubis7

you're right on both counts :) - yes, you'll pay around 500 euros to join the shareholders club now, as you need at least 100 shares in Eurodisney SCA. You do get special offers and invites with both a shareholders membership and an Annual Pass.

Its worth remembering also, that fan forum owners etc for DLP may get invites to special events at DLP because they are fan forum owners - its good business, and encourages good communication between the fans and the management of DLP.

I don't have Dream pass but I'm in the Shareholders Club so will help with this a little...

yes, you need now to hold 100 shares so it will be ~ E500 with all fees etc...

you will be getting email from a club like once a month or so with any special event/offers on top the one you got a whole year around.. (is 15% in shops and buffet/table restaurants plus 10% off is Disney stores in Europe)

in the last newsletter they are mention re special preview of Frozen happening in December (I Hope it will be when we are in Parks:lovestruc)

A shareholders round table will be held in November 2013. On this occasion, you will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with Philippe Gas and Mark Stead on the financial performance of the Company and its annual results for Fiscal Year 2013.

In December 2013, we will be pleased to invite you to a screening of the newest Disney Animation Studios animated movie: Frozen - La reine des neiges (in French version only), at CinéMagique in the Walt Disney Studios® Park.

there was also plan a special opening of new Lego store even but it has been pospond due to this accident with ceiling coming down or so (sorry don't remember on top my head what it was exactly)

in the past they also have an extra discount (25%off) in selected restaurants plus usually have good hotel deals for a day or two around preview events...

I'm currently a shareholder and have also held annual passes in the past. As a shareholder I always receive invitations to screenings, round tables, AGMs etc and believe I also used to receive invitations to screenings when I was an annual pass holder -although I'm a bit hazy on that one as it's been a while. I understand that you have to register to attend these events and it's on a first come first served basis so places are limited. I've never attended any of them as the timings have never coincided with a trip for me so can't speak from personal experience however I think what you're referring to is the special events where members of the press/travel organisations/selected bloggers and website owners are invited to not the general ones that are open to all shareholders.

I don't think me being a shareholder makes me feel any more special to DLP then the next guest but it does mean DLP has a special place in my heart and the discounts over the years have been very welcome - it's also very nice to drop into Salon Mickey for refreshment in the morning.

However it's very expensive to now buy shares as you need to hold 100 to be a member of the shareholders club. If I were you I'd be looking at purchasing an annual pass and enjoying those discounts instead.

I'm a shareholder and have been invited for special showings of new release films but as they are in French I have never taken them up on the offer. I have also had a chance to try new rides in advance, AP holders get this too.

I think the best one I got was 4 free passes to try the Studios about 1 month before it opened.

Both have advantages, I would say being that close an AP would be a better route to go down

I have a Dream AP - for me this worked out really well as I've been quite a few times in the past year, and some of the advantages are really good for me (free baggage storage, EMH, discounts - though shareholders get discounts too!).

Looking through my emails from the past year from DLP (related to having the AP):
- From 7 Jan - 15 Mar and 10 Jun - 13 Sep this year they were running a promotion where people with APs could buy 1 day / 2 parks tickets for 20/21 Euros (Dream/Fantasy/Francilien) - meant to be used for friends I think!
- Free screening in French of "Le Monde Fantastique D'Oz" in Disney Village - this seemed for quite a specific date/time though. I think there might have been something else but can't seem to find it in my inbox
- A couple of extra discounts (30% off)
- A couple of newsletters

Hi guys! Sorry that it took me so long to answer.
First thanks for all those posts, since they were quite helpful. So if I understood that right it means, that APs aren't invited to these big press events where people like Phillipe Gas... are present. However they do get invited to some extra events like movies and get discounts. Now I was just wondering if they get invited to preview days of new attractions. So if anyone, who was AP when ToT opened, told me if they were invited to special preview days and if that was exclusive to some kind of passport, than I would be very grateful.
Also totaly :offtopic: I was wondering if some of you could help me with these questions. Does DLP sell a Phantom Manor CD in the parks? Or a Haunted Mansion CD, where PM is included? I know that there are a few HM CDs which include PM, however I am having trouble to find one on Amazon. They all seem to have gone out of stock. And do you know a store, where I could buy a Disney poster? I would love to hang up a Phantom Manor poster in my room, however I can't find anything.
I thank you all in advance,
Greetings,

AP holders get to do soft openings on new rides. Shareholders don't get invited to big press events on previews of rides etc.
