Question re: Russian school

Now, I am not "up" on world histories, civil wars, etc, but I kind of always thought that, when it comes to terroists or sympathy fighters, etc that children were kind of "off limits'" so to say. Now, if some kids got killed/injured during the targeting of adults, that would acceptable losses to them. But isn't specifically targeting children something "new" so to speak? Or have ther been many other cases that I am just not up on?

I don't think kids have ever really been "off-limits". Palestinian terrorists have bombed school buses and attacked schools, as well as gone into settlement homes and killed children that were home with their mothers.

Good question.

I don't know the answer, but it seems to me that any code of honor has been gradually eroded as the need to escalate the 'fear factor' to higher levels has increased.

I really hope this doesn't become a trend, that really does terrify me. Ever since 9-11, I have feared our children becoming targets.

IMO, the definition of a terrorist is someone who ignores any sort of code of honor and decency, and these Chechnian (sp?) terrorists are no different. Personally, I think they are cowards for going after children.

My heart goes out to those poor families and the survivors.

Timothy McVeigh sat in that Ryder truck and watched parents bring their children into that daycare center, knowing he was about to blow it up.

Later, when asked about that, he said the children were "collateral damage." I couldn't imagine how anyone could be so cold and cruel.
