Question re Refurb Scheduling

Will be at DLR from 5/18 to 5/22. Looks like both small world and POTC are on refurb during that time, and both are scheduled to end on 5/22, opening back up on 5/23, the day after we leave. Both of these rides were kind of priorities for us because I hear they are both better in DLR than at WDW.

How hard and fast do they hold to these dates? Any chance they might wrap up the refurb a day or two early, or when they say 5/22, do they literally mean 5/22?

Thanks for any insight!

There is a chance they may soft open on 5/22, but I would go in thinking they will not open until the 23rd, but received a bit of magic if they are able to open sooner.

So, we were literally on our way out of the park yesterday, and lo and behold, Pirates opened up! A huge crush of people hopped in line, but we were still able to get on in only 10 minutes or so. Woohoo!

Way cool!
Was there any change after refurb that you noticed?

I'll admit that I don't have every detail memorized, but nothing jumped out at me as being different from before the rehab. When I rode, there wasn't anything that made me say "is that new?" or "wow, that looks cleaner/brighter/etc.".

I was there on Thursday too. I am glad they opened for you in order to get a ride. I didn't make it over to POTC...I was getting my fill of BTMRR. :cool1:

I notice the fireflies were gone at the beginning.

That's because they have left for a while. You see, this time of year is the mating season for fireflies. So up they went and flew off, to another part of the bayou, a much deeper part, where only natives and lost souls know the way. Here, in what is arguably the most mystical area of the ol bayou, resides the almost magical like dance of the fire flies. Where they dance and show their bright colors to prospective mates.
Don't worry though, they will return soon enough to the part of the bayou, where they enjoy listening to the strumming of the old man's banjo.
