We're planning a short trip to WDW 9/4 - 9/8. I just noticed that the MK is closing early on Friday & Saturday (9/5 & 9/6) for Nights of Joy (7:30pm-12:30am). Has anyone attended this event in the past? If so, how crowded was the MK during the event?

We would mostly be interested in riding the attractions? Does anyone know what rides are usually open during this time? How crowded are the rides compared with the concerts? Any info would be appreciated.

Also, in general, how are the crowds at the MK the day of the concerts? More or less crowded than normal for that time of year?

Since we'll only be at WDW for such a short time, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to buy tickets to a Night of Joy and consider it a rather expensive E-Ride night. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Night of Joy is extremely crowded. I would not attend if you were not interested in hearing the bands. We were there last year on Saturday night, and what rides we wanted to ride had over 45 minute waits. We decided to forego riding and just listen to bands. There are a ton of youth groups that go and they can get a little unruly. We did not go the day of, but I have heard that it's terribly busy then too. The youth groups make a day of it. It's a great event if you're into Christian music, but if not, I'd not spend the money just to ride rides.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of! Looks like we'll come up with an alternative plan!
