We will be arriving at the beginning of April and plan for Monday to be our first day at Disneyland. We will not be using early entry that day - is Disneyland the same as WDW in that they often allow people in to Main Square and hold them there for park opening in which case you can get to guest services during that period or are you all held outside?

Secondly when you go in to the park where is guest services? I am hoping to get a GAC for my invisible problems (the mobility is taken care of by a wheelchair) but although I have been to WDW three times we have never been to California.

Thanks

Sue

Hi Sue

At DL City Hall is also on the left after you go through the tunnel, just as in MK.

I recall (I was ther in November) they let people in starting about 1/2 hour before regular opening and have a "rope drop" at the hub end of Main Street.

One reaction you will have when you get there is "where is the Castle?"! It is only 75 feet compared to MKs at 189 feet. Also you will get disoriented as the park layout is different.

But have fun, it really is enjoyable.

If there is early entry they most likely will not let you in Main Street early. My advice is get to the gates 30 minutes before official opening and line up towards the left side. The line at City Hall forms early, so make a beeline for it. To use the wheelchair entrance you have to go past the stairs almost to the fire house. The lines do move fairly quickly though so you should be out and enjoying the parks in no time. One thing make sure you tell them how many days you'll be in the parks. They never seem to ask and will only give you a one day pass if you don't mention it.

Just to let you know (I am a Disneyland person) It is a lot harder to get a GAC at disneyland then WDW unless it is not for alternate entrance stamps. They hand out the others really easy (stroller for wheelchair and can not use stairs) But alternate entrance stamps are hard to get there. I am not sure what you need nor is it my business I just wanted to warn you :-)

Jen,

Thanks I had heard that it was much harder at DL. I will just take my previous GAC from WDW and explain my problem and hope that they will. I will also take a book for sitting in a quiet corner and if necesary will go to first aid for a couple of hours so that the rest of the family don't have to leave the park. I would suggest that DH dropped me back to the hotel and then went back with the children but I know that he would never agree to that.

This is our first time at a busy time (due to a change in English law that now won't allow me to withdraw the children from school) so we will see how it goes.

Sue

That is a good idea to bring your old card and if one person says no talk to a manaager or a lead. Have a good trip.
