Question re Golf Discount and Booking Tee Times

I called WDW Golf this morning. I needed to know the latest tee time available for twilight in August.

The lady was very nice, but couldn't give much info. She said my requested dates are more than 90 days away, so the reservation system won't allow her to look. OK, fine. So, I asked her to peek at a July date within 90 days. She started to, then backed off because I'd have to know which course I wanted, and some other details that I figured would be too irrelevant to make up.

The bottom line is that I hung up with no useful information except for this: DVC members can only book a tee time 14 days in advance (with the discount). The general public and other guests can book 90 days in advance. I expressed my concern that DVC members risk being locked out, but she assured me blocks of time are set aside for us.

So, can anyone give me more assurance that I'll probably get what I want (twilight Aug 13 or 15)? Or, should I give up now?

My guess is that you should be able to get the times you want somewhere. Summer is not usually the big time for golf, and when my husband golfs, he can usually get pretty near the time he wants on some course, and he usually does not book until we get down there. Also, don't forget the late afternoon summer showers that usually slows things down. I think starting late afternoon would be fairly easy to get.

When we wanted to do some advance "looking" to see what was available, I just went to the Disney website and pretended to be looking to book tee-times. That saved me a lot of time when I did call. You can't actually book on line, I think, because I couldn't figure out how to get the discount, so that's why I had to call. But by checking on line, I got a good idea of what was available, what courses might be closed what days, etc. For example, if I remember correctly, Magnolia's going down soon for a major rehab, so it might not be available.
