Question re: Dec cruise dates

We're booked on the 28 Dec 04 cruise. Our friends (another family) who we're going with have done their own research, and found the 4-11 Dec cruise saves each family about $2K.

Is the New Year's cruise worth the extra $2K...?

Anyone have experience with these dates?

Your help would be appreciated !!

you probably want to post this on the main board (this is for Trip Reports) to get more responses.

We are booked on the 12/28/04 cruise (and if that isn't worth your extra $2K to cruise with us, what would be? ) and I have honestly gone back and forth over the additional cost. Just reading the new post on the NYE Wonder cruise (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=487275) has me thrilled to be on this cruise.

Also, we are entering "the kids are in school" stage and I have much less heartache/guilt over taking them out for 1-2 days (I think they'll start back on the 4th and we'll fly home that night) so it's always going to cost you more to go when everyone else goes.

We wouldn't do this every year (we LOVED our 10/26 and 11/1 cruise dates/weather/timing) but this one time we're going to give it a try!
