Question re: 3 day hopper pass

I think I have only one more question before I officially book my trip!

We're booking through Costco (since we're already members). They said that if I buy the 3-day pass that I get EE (which I know), but we're only planning on doing 2 days in the parks. They told me that the third day must be used within 14 days. Is that true? If so, I think I'm going to just get the 2-day hopper and deal without EE.

Yes, that is true, they expire in 14 days from first use. We used those passes earlier this summer. Like you we only planned to be there 2 days, but we went in for just an evening and used that 3rd day. It was great!

Maybe that is something you could do, just a half day?

When we went last October the first hour of our non EE day was less crowded then our EE day. So go on a non EE day first thing and you should be fine. Unless summer is different? I am not sure when your going.

I have a couple of things to consider.

a) If at least 1 of the days that you will be at the parks is an EE day, I say get the 3 days and use the EE. You won't want to be entering the park to an already crowded place. The EE days are M, T, TH, Sa. So unless you were going to use the days on Su, W, or F, I'd say get 3 days. Maybe, as others have suggested, just enjoy the park for an evening. See the fireworks, electric parade, or Fantasmic or maybe have a nice dinner at the Blue Bayou.

b) What hotel are you staying at? If booking through Costco, it's either a Disney Hotel or a Good Neighbor Hotel. If you are going to be staying at a Disney hotel, then you get EE just by staying there, even if you have a 2 day park hopper. If you aren't staying at a Disney hotel, I'd just buy the 3 days.
