Does anyone know of a hotel that is close to WDW that is 4 star and pet friendly ? I was looking into the sarfari sheraton but you have to kennel your pets during the day and I don't want to do that. And I really wanted to stay at one of the unversal hotels but they are like 30 minutes from WDW, does anyone know of something just as nice as the universal hotels close by WDW that we could bring our pup with us ? Next vacation I really wanted to try and stay somewhere super nice for a change, and since we can't do any WDW hotels surely thay have got to have something. Thanks

I don't know of any.

even the ritz-carlton in orlando doesn't allow pets - and it is not close to Disney - Seaworld yes - disney no.

the closest offsite nice on is Gaylord. but I don't think it allows pets.

now I like Celebration World resort - it is a timeshare. You can generally get it on www.skyauction.com

It is a timeshare so unless you pay extra no daily housekeeping. they changed the management earlier this year - got rid of everybody.

but the balconies are now being cleaned. a big difference. before hardily anyone out on the balcony because they were dirty. this last trip everyone was out on their balcony.

it allows pets in A & B - there are pets in other building - but I am pretty sure these people didn't want to pay the fee. So they are assuming the whole place is pet friendly. IT IS NOT. and if the management finds you with a pet in a non-pet villa you will be charged alot more than if you say upfront that you have a pet.

some people hate it. I like it. that say you probably will not like it. It is not upscale. It has a pool and whirlpool tub. but no gym, spa, room service - none of that stuff.

you might consider renting a house that is pet friendly. there is a list at the top that contains those places.

the Hyatt Grand Cypress doesn't allow pets either. the only other thing close to disney that is upscale.

this is probably the closet hotel that allows pets and is still pretty nice

Thanks a lot for your response, I guess we'll end up taking our travel trailer again and staying at Ft. Just wish they had something pretty nice for pet owners.

I wish too there were more upscale hotels in Orlando that allowed pets.

there was a time with the Marriott timeshares allowed pets - but it was short - definitely short time because I can't find when they did it.:confused3

besides your place probably feel like home to your baby. a strange place is just that a strange place.

I appreciate the fact that you want to bring your pet with you. What I don't appreciate are the people that bring their pets into non-pet friendly places. I am allergic to dogs and so is my DS, he much more so than I. We once stayed somewhere that was supposedly NO PETS and both he and I had very bad allergic reactions to the room. We came to find out, from other guests, that there was a dog in the room the week before we got there.

Fortunately the hotel gave us our money back + $$ for medications that we needed + doctor expense. AND a big apology.

I know this is a little OP but it was mentioned about people having pets in an area that was not pet freindly and I wanted to reinforce the importance of keeping it that way. The next guest's health, even life, could be at stake.
