1. If the new MWY's are cheaper to use for Each visit, Then why not just buy what you need for the current trip and then purchase what you need for your new trip at that time and save the Dollars??

2. If Expirey is the "end all be all" why not buy less than base,10 day passes [$222.59+$100.($106.50 w/tax)=$329.09] for which the fee doubles and Only buy number of days you really need [base,7-day ticket+$55, ($58.58 w/tax)=$270.52]

3. Isn't it good that you can buy MWY without Pluses, like if you never use them or you go when it's too cold to swim?? And I can find Disney Quest passes for less than the the whole cost of the flat fee for Plusses $47.93 with tax).

Please help me understand, I'm still trying to get a handle on these new MWY tickets???

Not everyone would need the no expiration option. I'll buy it on a 10 day ticket because we're going on two trips in 2005 (5 days in the parks each trip). It's cheaper to buy a 10 day with no expiration ($309+tax) than for me to buy two 5 day tickets without expiration ($386ish + tax) :hyper: .

I do not think that it is "needed" as much as it is that it has always been that way (at WDW). Also I guess the cost savings, in the long run. If you are like me and there are likely 3 or more years between trips then it does not make sense to spend the extra, it does make sense to just buy what you need.

Disney Quest is a must do for my son and I. We plan to go there at least three times during our next trip. Having them included with the new passes is great for us.

Will Disney Quest become a "plus" option in January for the regular Park Hopper Plu Tickets purchased prior to January?

Lovepug answered this question. If you know you will repeat visit within the next two to three years you may as well spend the money to reduce your cost next time. If you took the $80 in the example and invested until time to purchase tickets for your next trip you aren't too likely to have doubled your money by investment...pug's example compared a 10-day no-hop, no-expire to two 5-day no-hop expires costing $193 each. In addition inflation may well be a factor. This assumes you are paying cash.

The 10 day pass is $32.90 per day...the 7 day pass is $38.65 per day. Again if you know you'll use the 10 day in a few years and you have the $50 to spare...it seems cost effective.

3. Isn't it good that you can buy MWY without Pluses, like if you never use them or you go when it's too cold to swim?? And I can find Disney Quest passes for less than the the whole cost of the flat fee for Plusses $47.93 with tax).

This one confused me. Given the multi day passes are designed to be used by someone who buys five days are you saying you can buy 3 DQ passes for less than $47.93? Or...are you saying you'd only use a plus one day and that day would be at DQ. If that's the case and you bought expiring hoppers then you are right. The cost of the plus to me appears to be one DQ and one PI or 3 PI's or one waterpark and one PI.

Please help me understand, I'm still trying to get a handle on these new MWY tickets???

The MYW tickets are designed to give the user a reasonably cost effective option depending on the number of days they plan to be in Disney World over a given span of time. I plan to get the $389 tickets. If an AP discount comes
up that I want to use I'll buy an AP at that time.

Surprise! Disney now includes Animal Kingdom with hopper passes purchased prior to the opening of that park, contrary to what is printed on the back of the pass. The reason given was to reduce the number of kinds of passes the system had to keep track of.

The answer to your question remains an unknown and can change in the future.

The rumored price increase of the Annual Pass (USD 60.?) suggest to me that the break even point of Annual Pass vs. Magic Your Way would be 16 to 20 days when taking two trips in a year. The price difference between the 7 and 10 day MYW's without non-expiration is so small that I can't do more precise comparison math in my head. It is still not an apples to apples comparison, the premium AP permits a multitude of short visits to water parks whereas the best that MYW can do is a small number of visits where making the visits long is advantageous.

We don't think its important and never have....but one point hasn't been made...

A lot of people like the no-expiration as "trip insurance" If someone gets sick during the trip, the park days aren't "lost"

Personally, I think having to track the tickets (stick them someplace "safe," remember where that spot is, remember to pack them) is more burdensome than the savings is worth.

Remember that a $1 tomorrow is not worth a $1 today when you worry about saving this - which may be why DisneyCrista says "3 years."

Hi,

I plan on going sometime next year, either May 27-June 6 or Dec 1-Dec 11-14 (still working on that). Anyways since I only plan on going once a year, unless the new packages are really as affordable as Disney has been saying I will get the 10 day MYW tickets with out the expiring option. I plan on going to WDW each day that I am there so there will not be a need to keep the tickets from expiring.
