Hello,
I remember reading here something like....starting May 1 at Disneyland if a guest trades with a Cast Member, the CM will only accept cloisonne type park pins.

Is this truly what is happening currently?

Also, anything new with types of pins that can be traded with CM at WDW?

I'd appreciate some responses with information. Thank you! Susan

From the above experience it sounds like things have change a lot. I think some was needed, but.... seems they are awfully zealous now.
I will be at DL/DCA in less than three weeks, so get to find out for myself. And luckily most of my tradeables are "legal." But seems you have to have everything but the certificate of mfg origin to trade with a CM now!
Maybe the CM's will start carrying jewelers loups in order to closely study the pins! ;)

Funny you should mention jewelers' loups. I was at MGM last week and stopped to check the lanyard of a CM in a suit. He whipped out a loup and began to check one of my pins. I was holding my lanyard out, so he could see the pins, so I wasn't sure if he was looking at my ring or a pin. When I asked, he said he was looking for hidden Mickey's in my pin. Has anyone heard this before?
Also, my children were in DL and DCA the week after Easter and were told that metal (silver, pewter, gold) pins would no longer be accepted after May 1st.
Has anyone noticed that just about EVERY CM lanyard in WDW has the same boring 12 pins on it? How do they expect people to get excited about trading with them if they don't offer anything different?
Okay, so it's early, and I haven't had my second cup of coffee yet. Sorry to be so testy!

but so far it has been a good thing. The lanyards have some good pins on them, especially for the people who don't live out here. I found a few to trade for also. They do not take brass or Pewter pins anymore or the soft enamel ones. It has been alittle tough because the CMs have to be alittle more careful and some are learning.......so don't be hard on them - give it some time. All in all it is looking better on the lanyard trading and it should stay that way. Remember.......all the other pins are tradeable with pinheads, just not the CMs. As far as the other pins, only buy what you like and no extras for trading........then you won't get stuck with them.
