We are planning our 2010 trip and have decided on a week long stay plus some extra days. Now, does DVC consider a weekly stay five days or seven days?
As always, all answers are greatly helpful and appreciated.

The weekly points on the chart are for 7 days. They are the same as adding up 5 weekdays and 2 weekend days.

the weekly rates are 7 nights in a row and are just there to be helpful. the points required is always determined by adding up the cost of each individual night of your stay.

If your dates of stay go across 2 seasons, you have to add up the nights individually.

basically: The weekly point listing is just there as a convenience. The "weekly" cost is the same as adding up 7 nights, sun-thursday + fri-sat.

The point cost is for 7 nights, 8 days. However, you are free to book a reservation of any length. There is no penalty for shorter stays and no bonus for longer stays. Everything is really "per night".

:) To put it another way. We are staying for 9 night sin October at AKV. We usually go Fri through to the following Sunday....so that would be 2 Fri nights and 2 Saturday nights. This year we are going Wed through to the following Friday, still 9 nights but cheaper in points because it is only one Fri. night and one Saturday night. We just kinda lucked up this year on our spread...we didn't own DVC at the time and luckily we are arriving mid week.

You can book any way that you like subject to availability and your having enough points available to cover the stay based on # of nights/which nights during week stay falls (how many Sun - Thurs, how many Fri & Sat AND the season/resort & villa type wanted. With DVC points stays there isn't a minimum number of nights you must book ( you can book only 1 night if you'd like ! ) Also, you can arrive and depart on whichever day of the week you'd like and you do not have to book at just one resort - you can do split stay at as many resorts as you might like to stay at during your trip and you can change your villa size as well ie stay in a studio x number of nights, then 1 bedroom x number of nights etc ( subject to occupancy limits being abided by of course )

Best wishes on your planning :goodvibes
