The Family has decided that they would like to add a water park to the next trip. I noticed the water parks close at 5pm, so that means we can hit a park at the end of the day.

My question:
1) It is cheaper to buy a 1 day pass for the water parks versus the Waterpark add on. Is it possible to buy the individual tickets for the waterparks, then use our normal tickets for a park that evening --> Without having to buy Park hoppers?

Thanks in Advance!

Yes, you can use a waterpark ticket and a park ticket in the same day--no hopper needed (nor could it be used that way if you had it). Not sure about the add-on, but I think it's a flat rate, and gives you the same number of water park days as park days. So unless you plan to use however many days to equal the cost (which I also don't know--sorry), it's better to buy single day waterpark tix (about $50). But you should definitely do it--the waterparks are so much fun!

As for whether it is cheaper, that depends whether you have park hoppers on your ticket.

If you have park hoppers, it only costs about $16 (plus tax) to add the water parks and more to your ticket.
If you do not have hoppers, it costs about $55 (plus tax) to add the option.

A water park ticket costs $53 adult/$45 child (plus tax).

Water parks and more admissions are counted and kept separate from theme park admissions. So you do not need a park hopper to use the different types of admissions in one day.

The WP & More option is $60 per ticket. To buy a 1 day WP ticket would be $53. So if you buy a 1 day WP ticket, you save $7 per ticket.

Now to make your decision more difficult. I am not sure how many days you have on your tickets already, but if you pay the extra $7 you get 7 uses. That means WP, Mini Golf, Disney Quest visits. This would allow you to do a few other things or even try both water parks for an additional $7. If you think you may want to do any of the additional things, then I would definitely say add the WP&MORE option to your existing tickets. If it is only 1 WP visit and no interest in the other advantages, then buying a 1 day WP pass makes the most sense.

Yes, the WP ticket and the park tickets are separate and can be used in the same day.

Thank you Both.

We do not use hoppers.. the family likes to lock onto a single park and tour it.. and then hit the pool if they want to leave. This day would just be the reverse of that idea. :cool2:

This helps and makes it easier to plan the double header for that day!

Everyone is different but I think doing a little miniature golf would be a great afternoon retreat after the parks as well. I mean for $7 per ticket you could go multiple times. I think it also changes the math on the hoppers as well for you possibly where hoppers only cost $33 extra dollars.

Hoppers + Water/Mini Golf = $86
Water Park 1 visit = $53

While you normally don't hop with FP+ you could hit up your kids favorite rides without needing to sit in a long line. For instance if you went to MK all morning you could visit a kiosk and get a FP+ time for Test Track before you leave for later in the afternoon/evening.

Its your vacation but the flexibility you would get for just $33 in my mind would be worth it. What happens if you arrive at the park only to find it just to be overwhelming packed with tour groups or families for the day? Or what happens if you go to Epcot and it rains where TT can run the whole day?

yep, makes sense. I appreciate the feedback. I will run the suggestion past the family and see what they opt for! :scratchin

I just want to correct the bolded part.

Unfortunately at this time you cannot get a fp+ at a kiosk for a different park. You can only get one for the park you are in. If that has changed in the last few days I haven't heard. But if you are in MK you cannot get a fp+ for Epcot or any combination therein.
