Question on using the Chase Disney Visa

I am hoping this is the right forum, but if not please move it.

So, we got the Chase Visa to use during our trips to WDW. However, I'm not sure if we used it correctly on our last trip to get our discount for dining and merch.

We attached the card to our Magic Bands so we didn't have to carry around the card. But it appears everything then was applied to our room bill (since Magic Band) and I don't see any discounts.

In order to get the dining and merchandise discounts do I need to physically use the card because if it's attached to the Magic Band it's a room charge?

It’s been a couple years but we always had to show the physical card to get the discounts at WDW.

I believe that you need to show the card at the restaurant and stores since they apply the discount right then.

yes, that's is what we figured. My CPA wife dug into our statement and the only reason we can think there was no discount was due to the card being on the magic band and being coded as a "room charge".

You do have to show and use the card at the establishment. If you are using it in a store you'll want to tell them at the start of the purchase so they can apply the discount. If you just tap your card to pay the discount doesn't automatically happen.
