Question on upgrading your reservation

We have one of those Star Wars cruises coming up next year and currently, we have two Cat 5 connecting staterooms. We booked the cruise almost as soon as it was available, so I am assuming that (guaranteed status and possible last-minute deals aside), we got in at pretty much the lowest fare possible. However, we have the financial latitude to upgrade our rooms to concierge or even one of the suites.

So my question is this: if I do choose to upgrade, does the upcharge reflect the (lower) pricing in place when I originally booked the rooms, or does it reflect the current (higher) pricing at the time of upgrading?

Thank you!

It will be the same price that was available on the day that you first booked.

I was hoping you'd say that. Thanks!

I just did almost the same thing today: upgraded two Fantasy Cat 4A staterooms to a Cat V (12004) to have everyone closer together (also have 12012). I called the concierge number and they sorted it all out in no time, giving me a complete refund for the two cancelled rooms and the rate for the concierge room the applied at the time of the original booking (4 months ago, saving me around $3K). The old rate applied not only for the 5 guests in the upgraded room (4A to V), but also for upgrading two guests from the second Cat 4A to the Cat T. I hope this was clear: basically, it was the cheapest solution that I could have hoped for.

Oh, wow, I didn't know this was an option. If I knew that we were able to upgrade at the same rates they were when we booked, I may have to upgrade myself!!!

Yes, we usually sail in late May when school gets out in the South, and we get in right before "high" season starts. Still, the cruises seem to book full because there are never any upgrades available when we get to the port.

Since the SW cruises are in the "low" season, this cruise might be the one to go for it.
