Question on Universal Ticket Purchase

Hello All - Have a question on AP and 3 day park ticket purchase. The plan would be to purchase one AP and (3) 3 day park to park tickets. The AP hotel discount was significantly better then the AAA discount that we had for our June trip so I'm thinking this is the way to go.

After checking the other Annual Pass discounts available, it reflects a 15% discount on the purchase of park tickets.

What is the best way to purchase the tickets. Should I purchase the AP online from the Universal website and buy the other tickets at the park entrance to get the discount? Or is the gate price higher then the website purchase price and possibly minimal difference in cost for the 3 day tickets?

My preference would be to have all tickets in hand before leaving 2nd wk of June but want to save as much $$ as possible.

As always, thanks for any guidance you might have.

The gate price is higher than the online price. The amount that you save is not a lot. In order to get the discount, you need to activate your AP by going through the turnstiles. Then you can come back out and purchase the 3 tickets at the ticketbooth. Personally, that is a waste of my time and I would just buy them online. Check out mapleleaftickets.com for good deals and fast shipping. People seem to swear by them.

Also when you buy at Universal online you get vouchers to print off, but as long as they are not FL resident tixs, you can exchange them for the real tixs at concierge. RPR had an electronic kiosk.

Even though the AP hotel discount is better than the AAA hotel discount they may have discounts on the tickets that you could get in hand if you go to the office. Might want to call your local office.

I called AAA and their price for the 3 day PTP ticket is the same price as the Universal Website. I'll purchase the tickets from AAA in advance of the trip.

Thanks again for all of the great information.

Just don't lose your tickets. One of the perks of purchasing directly through Universal is that your tickets can be looked up if lost.
