Question on Tickets

I don't want to buy Hopper tickets to include the day of our arrival since we won't be to the hotel until early afternoon. My question is:

If we decide to visit one of the parks on our arrival day and don't arrive to the park until say 3:00 or 4:00pm do we still have to pay Full price for a ticket or is the price reduced at a certain time of the day?

There is not a reduced price for entering the parks late in the day. This is why many of us opt not to visit the parks on arrival day. There's so much to do at WDW outside the parks, it just isn't worth it to use a whole day's park admission for a few hours.

What we personally do is check into our resort (usually around 3 or 4pm) then head to Downtown Disney for some shopping and dinner. This gets us in the mood for the parks without using a park ticket.

Other things you can consider are dinner at a monorail resort or a visit to the Boardwalk area.

Unfortunately you still have to pay full price for a ticket, we are doing the same thing and I finally decided to just take that day off and instead of going to the parks My sister and I are going to do some DTD shopping then a happy hour monorail ride, having drinks at the Poly, GF and Cont, then have dinner at Cont while watching Wishes during our dinner, that way we still feel like we are in the disney spirit, even though we aren't in the parks. Have fun!

That sounds like a good idea and fun also.

If you get the UPH tickets thru your WDW resort, they are good from when you check in to when you leave. If you are a DVC member and buy your UPH tix thru your resort (getting the 10% discount), you can get often drop the first and/or last days.

If you are looking to conserve your regular PH tix, then you will want to avoid using them the first night. You could always head over to the Boardwalk for a nice dinner and some midway games. That scenic monorail ride and drinks sounds like a good plan too. Of course if you're at AKL, you never need to leave the hotel::yes:: ; my family would gladly spend one or two days just doing stuff at AKL (like we do at VB).

I believe the UPH discount for DVC members is only if you are staying at a DVC resort.
