Question on the CityPass, are they actual hard tickets?

We are coming in July and plan on doing the CityPass and hitting Disney the first morning we arrive.

Are the tickets in the package all real/hard/fastpass type tickets? Or do I need to go to desk services to exchange them at any of the parks, especially Disney?

I want to be sure we are there at rope drop and don't want to spend the first 15 or so valueable minutes exchanging tickets at the ticket booth.

Same question for SeaWorld, the Zoo, & Universal. Hoping the tickets I get just allow me to walk in.

Thanks!

You can take the CityPass tickets up to the turnstiles. They will scan them and then give you the 'paper', regular, Disney Resort tickets. You keep the CityPass ticket/card to use at the other parks (Sea World, Universal, Zoo/Wild Park). It takes about 1-2 minutes to do.
Remember you can upgrade to 4,5, or 6 day passes with the CityPass.

This is a quote from a post from yesterday titled "Upgrading City Passes"

Upgrading City Passes
We are just back from Disneyland/San Diego and had a fantastic time. We saw WOC - awesome show and Fantasmic was my first time seeing that and we really enjoyed that. We did the preferred seating at the WOC show.

Also, we purchased the City Pass with 3 day park hopper, seaworld, universal. The pass was great!

We upgraded our pass to include a 4th day at Disneyland. I know I was looking for information on these boards previous on our trip on the cost to upgrade and could not find so I wanted to pass along that it cost us $44 (total) for 2 adults and 1 child to purchase one additional day. That was so worth it! We had no problem.

Just wanted to share. We will be back in 2013!

This is my experience.

Last year we upgraded our City Passes to 6 day passes for $70 each person, adult or child.

Hmmm.

wrldtrvlr reported being able to add one day, three people, for $44. So that was less than $15 per person for the extra day.

But you say it cost you $70 per person for a three-day upgrade....which comes out to more than $23 per day....and that is taking into account that prices go down with each day you add. So the cost of your first-day upgrade was probably around $30.

Why would you have paid so much more? Is it just the CM you get at Guest Services? Did you get a great deal, originally, on the City Pass? That's a big difference.

I did this last June. Other than that I don't know why the difference. I'm just sharing my experience and quoting the other.

Thanks for the info! I keep going back and forth on just doing the city pass and taking a chance they are able to upgrade it or just doing everything seperate.

We dont think we will hit up universal studios.....we go back and forth so we will just have to wait and see :) But the more info I have the better:goodvibes

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not doubting your amount...just wondering why the difference. (And wondering how I can make sure we get the cheaper rate!)
