Can anyone tell me where I can buy reasonably priced swim shoes that the lining will stay in. I usually get them from walmart or kmart. My DH, DS & I all have the same problem with the linings. I told my DH that I am going to purchase new ones for our next Disney vacation as we love to go to Typhoon Lagoon and BB BUT I am going to spend the extra dollars and get some that we can be comfortable wearing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:)

I have never tried them, but I believe that Lands End carries water shoes. If you were to ask them about the linings and they say they stay in, and they came out I would think they would allow you to return them for a refund. I know that it would still be a pain if they came out, but might be worth looking into. Otherwise check out ones meant for use on personal watercraft, DH had a pair of watershoes that had a little higher ankle on them that he got through our Yamaha dealer a few years ago and the lining is sewed to the bottom. If you are interested in that route, make sure they have a pair to look at as the bottoms might not be as cushioned as you might like, but DH likes his.

We had this same problem with the water shoes we had last year on vacation. Talk about miserable! I got blisters on my feet because the insoles kept scrunching up when I walked. I found DS and myself Body Glove watershoes that are made really nice. The insoles are sewn in, rather than glued. So far I have worn these to water aerobics several times, as well as a local water park and they are working out well. I was lucky enough to find ours for $4 a pair at the Gabriel Brother's store, I believe they were discontinued colors. I don't know the price otherwise, but I would guess around $30 to $40. I also saw a pair of Nike water shoes once that had the insoles sewn in.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to check out all the options you both suggested. It is so nice to have a forum like this with so many helpful people.

I've been buying the Lands End water shoes for several years for all my kids....they're great because they have laces that can be loosened, so they're much easier to get on. (You don't have to tie them though....they have one of those little fastners that you squeeze to move and release to hold in place.) The insoles are removable to speed drying, but I haven't had trouble with them coming out when we didn't intend them to. This year I went ahead and bought my husband and I a pair......we were still using pairs that we had bought years ago on a previous Florida vacation. We found the Lands End versions to be so comfortable that we let the kids wear them all day one day when we knew we'd be going on a few wet attractions at Universal. I think most people would be very happy with the Lands End water shoes!
