I hope this question will make sense and I apologize if this seems goofy. We rented a cabin up in Maine our last cabin rental since we bought our class c and we noticed the rules and law in Maine you must have a connection at the end of your sewer pipe (sorry don't know the technical name) in order to put your sewer hose into their hole. Now is this connection required in some states, all states and if so what is the technical name for it and where do you get one? Since Fort Wilderness has full hookups do they require this contraption? Thanks

If you mean the rubber ring seal that goes on the end of your sewer hose , then yes they require one . I have never actually seen anyone checking this though . You can pick these up at any RV dealer or Walmart carries them too. If this wasnt what you were asking about sorry

A hard connection is required. Many types are available. I have a plastic, threaded elbow conction which is screwed into the connection at the site.

they called it a donut plus a plastic elbow was required at the end of your sewer hose. I found my campground paper work.

if for some reason you forget it, they have them at the Meadow Trading Post. DH forgets how much they are because we had to get one because he left ours at the truck stop!:scared1:

I have yet to stay at a CG that doesn't require you to have a solid connection to the sewer pipe going into the ground. Years ago some campgrounds had a hole in the ground with a cover that had a foot pedal on it. You stepped on the pedal and then stuck your flexible hose in the hole and let the cover drop to hold it in place. As you can imagine, it didn't seal very well so there was an odor. :crazy2: So, as ftwildernessguy has stated, you must have a screw in connection for FW. And I believe I've seen them at the Meadows but I'm sure it would be cheaper at Wally World or an RV dealer.
