Heading to Universal first week of November and staying on-site. I've read that your room key gets you priority at restaurants. We've only been to Disney and I am obsessive about having PS's but not sure if I need to do this at Universal/CityWalk and Hotel restaurants? Any help would be appreciated....

i would only make a ressie at city walk if i had a large group of people with me.

(your room key will give you a shorter wait time for a table at cw.)

tchoup tchoup and emerils would be the 2 i would make a ressie for in advance if it was for a weekend dinner.

hotel dinner should not be a problem with much of a wait for a table.

typically, early november has smaller crowds for the parks.

Thanks! I was kinda hoping that would be the answer since I haven't done anything yet and we'll be there in a week and a half!!! As opposed to our Disney trips I really plan on kinda wingin' this one....

i didn't plan any reservations for my meals.

the only thing i planned in advance was a specific room number and tower.

that was the extent of this year's planning......

Room and Tower? I'm a newbie at Universal.... staying at the Royal Pacific. Any hints on what and when I should request something specific? thanks!

Try and get Tower one with a room on the 7th floor overlooking park. That way you get to see over the tops of the trees! We got a great view of the Hulk from our corner room and below us was the nighttime berthing area for the boats that take you to the parks in the morning. Only thing i did find was i got up in the morning excitedly rushing to the window to view the Hulk being tested and the window was all misted up from the outside! It was end of August this year so we mustve had the aircon on too long and it was too warm outside!

Is there a timeframe before you arrive that you can call and make special requests like this?

i always make my requests when i book.

since you didn't, you can call and have those requests listed on your file.

if you don't, you can always request certain rooms and towers when you check in.

rooms are usually assigned 3 to 4 days out from arrival.

if you want a particular room number and it is not available for your date, you can tell at check in that you are willing to move rooms during your stay.

sometimes these "hot" rooms are already occupied when you check in but will be open sometime during your stay.

rph has 3 towers.
one closest to the walk way path, the other closest to the water taxi.

we are taking about a mere 2 minute difference of those things.

tower 2 is back more from the park and does not have many park views.
