Question on Restaurant.com gift certificates

just incase u didn't know, today is the last day enter code STEAK for 80% off ($25.00 certificate for $2.00)

the also offered me at 50.00 gift certificate to restaurant.com for $5.00 so i purchased it BUT how does it work? do i have to use it at one time? can i use it for 2 different 25.00 certificates or i see they will also mail u a gift card?

In the ones I have purchased there are stipulations to how they can be used....for example the last $25 one I used said something like this "can be used with a minimum purchase of $35, another $50 one that we had said that the total bill without tax or alcohol must be $100. The one we had for The Melting Pot(Fondue Chain) could only be used Sunday to Thurs and you had to purchase the Big Night out or Cheese fondue, 2 Entrees and Dessert Fondue to use that one. Read the fine print each restaurant has different stipulations, they are mostly good deals, our local pizza place won't let you use them for any specials. We use them alot I buy them on the 80% deals and there nice money savers!!!

You print out the certificate on the computer to use. I have only ever used the $25 ones so I am not sure if the $50 is one certificate or 2.

You really have to read the fine print though on them. Most have a minimum order usually something like $35 or $40. Some include alcohol, some do not. Almost all are dine in only and they will automatically charge you 18% gratuity (which is fine with us, but just something to watch for).

We have never had a problem with redeeming them. Just hand to your server right away because they do have to call and verify the certificate (since it is a printable). Our problem is that with some of the cheaper restaurants we can't always hit the minimum price with just the 3 of us...especially with no alcohol. Or we find ourselves ordering more expensive dishes than we normally would and then we really aren't saving much. But on a whole, we really like them and do use them at a few local places quite a bit!

I did this with my last order from rest.com. I got a gift cert. code and used it to buy 2 $25 gift certs. I did buy them both at the same time but I really didn't need to, it showed up that I had a credit on my account for $50. I just put the cert. code into my acct. It was very easy actually...speaking of, I have a credit from them....one of our favorite places to use them stopped taking them so I got credits for each one...I should go grab a sushi cert. or 2 with the credits.
