Question on Port Orleans

I need some advice from Port Orleans veterans.

I'll be at WDW alone this coming January 5 through 9, so I'll spend most of my time in the parks, and very little time in my room. One thing I like to do, however, is sit on a patio or deck in the late evening, enjoying the view and watching the activity.

Right now I have a reservation at CBR, based on hoped for newness and niceness. I stayed at CBR several years ago, and my view of the parking lot and the main road wasn't exactly what I was looking for (so why did I make the reservation at CBR? I don't know!).

So my question is, are there rooms at POR or POFQ where you can sit and enjoy the late evening? Any advice you could give about specific buildings or views would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are nice courtyards outside of all the buildings, though you might have to walk around to the other side if your room faces the parking lot. They're usually deserted. That might be a better place to sit and relax anyway, since you know you'll have a great view, and they all have benches.

The Manor Homes at Port Orleans Riverside (especially Parterre Place)and the water front buildings at Port Orleans French Quarter (Bldgs 1, 2, and 5) have great water views of the Sassolgula River. Alligator Bayou at Riverside does not have really great views. Coronado Springs also has some great water views (especially at Casistas 5 and Cabanas 8b and 9a). If you do opt for CBR, try for Aruba 52. CBR is our favorite resort and we were just there Labor Day and stayed in Aruba for the first time and loved it! Enjoy your trip!
