question on points...

first off...Wahooo!!! got the welcome home email!!!!!
officailly into the club

now I have been reading and re-reading on here since the beginning of summer, and I thought I had the whole points/banked/borrowed down pat......well, now I'm confused......ok heres the deal....300 pt contract....300 pts banked,300 current, and 300 to come @ UY i.e. 1st of Feb.....now since there are 300 pts banked, these would need to be used up by 1/31/2011, before 2011 go in?.....

heres what I am getting at......
we are planning on treating our family (15 people) to a trip in june 2011...we also would like to take a trip possibly in the next month or so, and IF poss one in the spring.....Now the big trip would be the priority...and we would use other point to make it work.......what are my timeframes on this.....we will hopefully be making out first call to MS on mon to start booking....
my plan is to book the big trip and one for the fall on monday....when we call MS will they help walk us thru the first rezzie? (no guide, TSS resale)

A good MS agent (and some are better then others) will walk you through the process.

Your banked 300 points have to be used for stays on nights no later than January 31, 2011. Your current 2010 points can be banked for use between Feb 1, 2011, and January 31, 2012. They would need to be banked before you make those reservations, and your banking deadline is September 31, 2010.

Have your membership number, and the last four digits of your Social Security number when you call MS. And have your desired dates, room sizes, locations, and resorts written down (and have several choices available, as you are inside the 7 month window) so you can relay them to the MS agent. It is easy to get a little forgetful on the phone, and being anxious about your reservations, so if you have what you want written down, it helps. Especially when making multiple reservations.

The 300 banked will have to be used by 1/31/11 or they will expire. Their use will have no effect on the use of your current points.

The 300 banked points should be used for the trip this fall. If you have banked points left over you could research renting them (see rent/trade board for ideas).

Your current yr points (feb'10) should probably be banked for use on the June '11 trip. That way you would have up to 900 points available for the big June '11 trip. 300 banked(feb '10,) 300 current (feb '11) and 300 borrow (feb '12).
