I am looking at going to Vero Beach from 8/16 to 8/23 2002.
There are 6 of us going so we are looking at a 2 bedroom villa.
The total points to stay at that time if you were to use 2001 numbers would be 289 @ $9 (just a guess as to rental price) would be $2601.

Could I split the reservation between points and a normal paid reservation? Pay for the Fri. and Sat. and use points for the
Sun-Thurs. Again using 2001 numbers this would be
($360 X 2 nights) + (145 points @ $9) = $2025.

If this is allowed, is there anyway to keep the same room and not have to move.

Finally if all this works is there anyone out there with the points necessary for the Sun.-Thurs. of this period?

I'm assuming you are not a DVC member and are interested in renting the weekdays from a member and pay cash for the weekends thru the resort itself.

It is possible to do this and many do, as the weeknd point cost is much higher than weeknights. In this case, you will have to make the cash ressie thru CRO or the resort itself. They can try to link the reservations together, but it likely won't be done at the time the reservations are made, since the reservations would be made thru 2 different sources.

They can often link them together for you when you check in at the resort.

You should make your rental request with dates on the <a href="http://64.225.125.24/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=29">Rent/Trade Board</a> here at DIS.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your help. You are right, I am not a DVC member. We have looked into it in the past, but have never actually crossed the line and joined. You are correct in you response about renting the points and paying for the weekend. I was afraid of not being able to link the bookings together. We are Disney Club members and season passholders to WDW, but there are no discounts out there right now for them. I have read that Disney Club was suppose to have a 20% discount at that time, but no rooms show up with that discount. Enough rambling for now though. As I said thank you for your help.

You would need to reserve through CRO or a travel agency for the cash portion, the member would not be able to do that for you. You would them give them the reservation # for the points rental and they would link them. They cannot guarantee that you won't need to move but it's unlikely you will. Just remind them at the front desk when you check in. I also think you'll need to check in twice, once for points and once for cash reservation.
