Question on Park Closing times

We have been to both parks many times and generally have left at posted closing times, but I was just reading a 2015 Universal Tour guide book at a Barnes and Noble and the author stated that you can generally stay in the parks and continue to ride the attractions for a full hour past posted closing times, has anyone experienced this

You can't get in line once the park closes, but if you're already in line, you'll be able to ride. The shops generally stay open for about an hour after the parks close.
