We are planning a family trip in June, and there are 5 "for sure" and 1 "hopeful". My brother-in-law isn't sure if he'll get the time yet or not. We want to book our ADRs at 180 days which is next week. If I book them for 6, but only 5 make it, what do we do?

I've heard on here not to worry about dropping the one at the restaurant as we'd be at a table for 6 anyway. I want to do the right thing. My other concern is the Fantasmic package. I know we give a credit card to hold our spot (we have a package booked in January as well), but what happens if 5 show up instead of 6. Do we pay for the 6th? Do we pay the $10 no show fee? If I call and say we only have 5, will they let me keep our ADR and just drop a person, or will we forfeit the spot?

I know that is a lot of questions. Just want to be prepared on Tuesday! Thanks for any insight.

For anything that doesn't require a credit card, I would book 6. Then you could change the ressie if possible or, if not, show up and so one member of your party is ill. FWIW - As a family of 5, I can tell you that we have not always been seated at a table that holds 6. Sometimes we have been at a table for 4 with one chair added to it. Other times, we have been at a round table that clearly was for 5, not 6. So, going from 5 to 6 isn't always easy. Not sure what you should do about the dinner package as I have never done that.
