Question on Line Movement

Hi all,
Planning a Disneyworld week long trip in June, when lines will be long, with my family of 4 (including son, 11, with autism). We had great success with GAC but I've accepted that our touring plans will have to change.

We have not been to WDW in several years, and I've forgotten a lot. I'm hoping DS line tolerance will have increased. We want to make judicious use of our FP+ and, if needed DAS. I need some help from you ride experts.

1. DS has the most trouble when (even if the line is short) you have to stand still for a while. Example is Soarin' when you have to wait for entry) as opposed to lines that continuously move (like Buzz lightyear). Which rides have this stand still and wait, then move, then stand still and wait? Those we will want to do FP for.

2. Which lines have the worst cattle-car type feel? That is, where groups of people are all around you, instead of a more single file type feel? These were also trouble spots for us...

Thanks very much! I considered posting this is the Disabilities board, but thought you might have more insight here on queue characteristics. I hope I am not starting a debate on DAS, that is not my intention at all.

1. Virtually all of them. Safari (example) is long and straight, but "go and wait."

2. Jungle Cruise is the worst. Peter Pan. Buzz Lightyear. And, more.

Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board.

There is a WDW DAS (Disability Access Service) thread stuck near the top if the board. Post one of that thread is a DAS FAQs.

Also near the top of the disABILITIES board there is disABILITIES FAQs thread ( there is also a link in my signature to that thread). On page 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a post about attractions where all guests need to stand. It should list most of those attractions you are concerned about.
There is also a post on page 2 about claustrophobia. So e of those are the cramped lines.

I'm going to answer this one here since I don't frequent the disabilities forum anymore but I went through some bad times in the past and had some issues with crowds in the Disney "holding pens".

If you enter a "pen" such as It's tough to be a Bug (the worst one since it's all enclosed and just feels creepy if you have issues), tell the Cast Member at the entrance that you need to stand towards the back and then ignore the "move forward, move forward, move forward!!!!!" announcements. You are already through the gates and will be admitted to the next show but you've already told the entrance Cast Member that you need to hold back. If any other Cast Member approaches you, just hold up a hand and say "we're having issues here" and then enter as one of the last parties. If, at that point, you can't enter, then you can just leave.

I don't have a disability but hate getting on HM for this very reason. They pack you in the stretching room and then let the mass out to funnel down into that small line. :scared:
