Question on Last Minute Bookings

First of all, are they possible? And, what would be the chances? My dad might be having an event in August some time, and I would like to rent again. So, what would be the easiest resort to rent from (if at all possible) based on everyone elses experience? We don't have a date set yet even, but it would be for a Wednesday and Thursday night (6,7; 13,14; 20,21; 27,28). Really don't have a lot of details yet, and would probably not have a lot until next month at the earliest, but just trying to see if renting is a possible option at all. Has anyone else had luck getting last minute reservations with DVC?

My choices (in order) would be Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, OKW for a couple of studios. Of course that would be in a perfect world. So, how crazy am I?

hi: you'll never know until you try. okw should be the easiest to find availability at since it's the largest.

I just called MS last week for five nights beginning May 4 and the only resort available was OKW. I was hoping for BWV or BCV but nothing is opening up. I took OKW and have my fingers crossed.

Actually, I've found last minute ressies fairly easy to get. Have done it with as little as 24 hours notice. You have to be not fussy as far as room size or which resort.

That being said, if you're talking about renting points it may be a lot more difficult. If I rent my points on a last minute basis I think I would have to really know and trust the renter. If a ressie is made within a 30 day window you cannot cancel the ressie without running the risk of losing the points.
