Question on holding contracts at 2 different properties.

DH and I are considering purchasing more points.

However, since we've heard that the BW is sold out, and that is our home resort, that would mean purchasing at another resort.

If we purchased at another resort, would we be able to use the points at the Boardwalk if we needed too?

I'm open to all suggestions since I haven't called our guide yet.

Even though BWV are sold out, you can still buy BWV points through DVC and/or the resale market. When other BWV try to sell their contracts too low on the resale market, DVC will exercise their right of first refusal (ROFR) and take those contracts back into their inventory. DVC can then resell those points. Right now the going price for the "sold-out resorts" is $92 per point.

Now if you wanted to take advantage of the SSR promotion to get 120+ points at $83.30 per point, you could do that and would still be able to use your points to stay at any DVC (including BWV). The only difference is that you can't book the ressie to stay at BWV using these points UNTIL 7 months before the trip.

If you'd rather have the BWV, give your guide a call and tell them you want to buy more BWV points. He/she will check to see if they have any BWV points available for your use year and things should be good to go. Of course, you can also find BWV contracts on the resale market.

If you would rather buy points at SSR, just know that the current 15% off promo is supposed to be expiring at the end of this month.
