Hi all, I haven't been around & posting much, but do check in to read from time to time. :) We have a June trip planned! First time as a family of 5 instead of a family of 3.

In the past we always got ODS a GAC, he has mild CP & needs his s/n stroller. Now I'm starting to think about the details of corralling all 3 kids at Disney, a special needs 8 y.o. & 2 not quite 2 year olds. How we manage rides, lines etc. I'm starting to worry.

One parent will need to push ODS, and obviously the other will be pushing the twin terrors in their double stroller. What about rides? There are rides we will want to do togther, but parking the double somewhere & 1 parent having to wrangle the twins sans stroller while the other pushes ODS, just makes me anxious thinking about it. It would be so much easier to park both strollers together, usually at the ride exit. Do you think it would be asking too much, to ask to have the twins' stroller also tagged stroller as wheelchair, so that when we all want to ride together, the strollers will both be treated in the same manner?

I just feel wierd asking, because the twins are not disabled, but if ODS were not, it would be a non-issue. I mean 2 parents wrangling twins & a typical 8 year old is do-able -- when the older child is a s/n kiddo, it gets a bit more complicated.

The purpose of the GAC is for people with disabilities. Technically, the "Stroller As Wheelchair" tag is given as a supplement to a GAC which has a "Stroller as Wheelchair" stamp on it.

The twins are not disabled. They are not entitled to a GAC, therefore they are not entitled to the SaW Tag.

I have to agree with Cheshire Figment. They wouldn't give a stroller as a wheelchair tag to a single parent, traveling with twin two year olds (and they'd be in the situation of one adult wrangling to small children).

What I would do was if the older child can also ride in the twin stroller then that is the one that I would put the tag on. Then s/n child can ride with one of the twins and the other twin be carried. I would park the single stroller if that was at all possible.

One way that we handled the twins when they were about the age of yours was to use a baby carrier for them when they needed to be carried. It worked great in lines and on buses.

As Cheshire Figment said, the only people eligible for a stroller a wheelchair GAC is the person with a disability. Though it is difficult, the twins are not disabled, nor are you or your spouse (at least not according to your first post, please correct me if I am wrong). GACs are reserved for a person with a disability.

from what i have seen unless son can use double stroller some way, no way you can get both tagged as wheelchair. another idea for twins are the backpack leashes. we used with 3 year old runner of a grandson. had always said leashes were for dogs but last year at Disney changed my mind. grandson loved and helped with lines a lot. just another idea for when out of stroller and needing an extra hand.

You will likely see a lot of leashes around the parks. It's a smart, sensible solution for protecting your young children.

Agree::yes::

A lot of the smaller kids are wearing the backpack type leashes. They have a cute sort of stuffed animal along with the leash.
