My wife is thinking about doing a dive excursions, there's one thing noted on the description for all the excursions that you must have dove in the last 2 yrs. She did last year at Epcot living seas, but she's not done anything else. Is there something that they check to verify that you dove? She really wants to do it, but doesn't want to get there and find out she can't

I don't ever remember them checking my log book if that's what you mean. They just asked and that's it. You either say yes or no. Everybody usually says yes. Like I said, i don't ever remember having to show them proof I dove in the past 2 years. Just a dive card.

Most operators don't check your log book. Whether she should chance it or not really depends on her previous diving experience and if she has her own equipment. It's recommended that anyone that hasn't been diving for a year or more should complete a refresher course before diving. It's amazing how quickly you can forget vital info and if you aren't familiar with your equipment it adds to the confusion. To me the epcot dive doesn't count as an open water dive. It's so shallow that you could easily swim to the surface without air.

I've had more dives ruined by divers who lied and went in with rusty skills causing everyone to surface early.
