Hello all! I am new to the board but have been a Disney fan all my life :)

I now have two young children so I get the wonderful opportunity of reliving the Disney experience through their eyes. My oldest turns 5 on March 8, and I would love to plan our first Disney trip the week of March 3-11, 2007.

Everything that I read says this is peak season and is the worst time to go. I have been to Disney many many times but I have never stayed at the resorts to spend a week at Disney World and visit all the parks.

Would I be crazy to go at this time? I would think that Spring Break has not started yet, or if it has it would be for college who would most likely be hitting the beaches.

Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. Any advice on the resorts would also be appreciated. It would be myself, husband, and two children ages 5 (the birthday boy) and a daugher who will be 2 at that time.

Thanks so much.

My DH, DD20, DD17 & I have went the 1st week of March for the last 3 years (2004-2006) and are planning another trip at the same time in 2007. We love it then. It doesn't really start getting busy until the 2nd week-end in March when they had the cheerleading competitions this year. I would definitely not want to be there for the 2nd week of March based on the crowd levels that start coming in on that Friday and Saturday.

We stay at Port Orleans Riverside and love it there. It is a moderate resort but worth the extra money to us because it is quiet & peaceful after a day in the parks. If we had went when the girls were little, I might have tried the value resorts because I think the girls would have enjoyed that atmosphere then.

Based on 5 or 6 trips during this time of from 8 to 10 days each I'd call the crowd level 'Moderate'. Get to your first park early, use FP and you'll get in the major attractions before 30 plus minute lines build, usually by 1 pm. This last March I was given a TGM touring schedule for our 10 days by a co-worker and things were even smoother than usual. I'll subscribe to Mike myself next year.

In addition to crowds being not too bad, the weather is beautiful. In more than 50 days of WDW touring over the years we've had one completely rainy day, perhaps 5 days when it 'spritzed' for a few minutes then cleared with the rest of the time sunny and from 75 - 85 degrees. As for Spring Break, I'll be there every year then as it's my college's break week, but every school is different and most of them break later. Enjoy!

Thanks to all that have replied, I definitely appreciate your feedback. :goodvibes

Can anyone else provide me with their opinions and/or experiences?

Bump....I would like to hear more info too. We are thinking of going during this time as well.

I have gone the past two years at that time and never had a problem with crowds! We used Tour Guide Mike, had a definite plan, used fastpass, and never waited in line more than 15 minutes! There were people around, but never where we were!! Go and have a great time, you'll be fine, but definitely make a plan! ;)

We've gone the first week in March for our last two trips. The crowds were fine. Crowds did start to pick up on the weekend, but during the week, lines were minimal.

Weather can be iffy. For our first trip, we hit a cold spell and were pretty cold for the first half of the week. In '04, the weather was absolutely perfect the entire time.

I wouldn't hesitate to go this time of year. You'll have a blast.
