Question on Cinderella's Royal Table

Has anyone tried to add a person once you get to the restaurant?

Here is our situation, I had made the reservation for 2 for the breakfast as my husband was not scheduled to meet us until a couple of days into our vacation due to work reasons. He now may be able to arrive the same time we do but won't know until about a week before we leave for vacation. If he does end up coming early can we just show up with 3 people at the castle or is this a pipe dream. I tried calling and changing the reservation to 3 just in case but there is no availability during the whole time we are there for either lunch or breakfast

suggestions?

This happened to us we were a party of four and at the last minute Grandma decided to come with us...during FREE dining in 2005...I called every day but could not add her...so she went with us anyway hoping they would let her in...if they didn't she'd just spend time on Main street...we very nicely explained how she really wanted to join us...they said ok...we had a 8:05 seating though...not sure how it would be later when they are very busy.

When we got there the people in front of us in the check-in line had a 8:30 ADR and were very upset with the CM they claim the had a ADR for 4 but CRT only had them down for a ADR for 2 and they only prepaid enough for 2...the family got pretty upset and said some pretty mean things...the CM was really nice though and gave them a table for 4...they were 2 adults and to small children maybe 2 & 4.
