Question on changing your DVC Guide

Hi DVC fans. I've only had one DVC guide throughout my 18 years of DVC membership. When I reached out to her with questions about add-on, I discovered that she retired back in 2020 and I got a call from a new DVC guide assigned to me. Unfortunately, the communication style and personality of my new DVC isn't working with me. Unlike my previous guide, this one actually puts some sales pressure on me with constant follow-ups through phone calls and emails. I'm sure he's fine with others, but not with me. Without upsetting him, what's the best approach to get a new DVC guide? If I have contact info for another DVC guide, can I call them directly and ask for them to be my new guide? I wasn't sure how guides are assigned to members....if at all???

My friend just recently switched guides because she didn’t like the one she had. She just called the new guide and asked to switch. The new guide said just as long as she had no current meetings with her old guide switching wasn’t a big deal.

I get ’switched’ all the time by accident.

It seems every time I ask a question in-person or via the website chat, that DVC rep becomes my new guide on record.

OP Sounds like a similar situation as ours. Was your guide Lauri by any chance? In any event we had stopped by the center at SSR one trip to find out she had retired and would we like to talk to so and so about any questions we had? Which we did and wouldn't you know it he had emailed us before we had even left about how nice it was to meet us and don't hesitate to call anytime. A week later after we were back home I received a phone call from him with the same schtick. On out next trip we stopped into the Boardwalk model and spoke to another guide who was a joy to talk to and agreed to be our guide. So now we have a guide we are comfortable with again.(Not that we ever need her)...
