I'm looking into booking AKL or a deluxe studio for a mid December trip. This is a spur of the moment decision to go for 5-6 nights after my daughter finishes her college finals. We had just intended on going to enjoy the Christmas Party and spend a day at AK to check out the new Pandora land and nighttime show; however, we have decided to take advantage of free dining and stay a bit longer. We stayed at WL in 2012 and 2014 with a courtyard view, which has been our favorite resort and view for many years. We also visited AKL for dinner those years and fell in love with the AKL lobby and hotel. I know I won't be happy with a parking lot or rooftop view at AKL. My husband thinks it is pointless to stay at AKL and NOT get a savanna view. I'm just trying to look at this from a practical perspective. We will be there Dec. 15-21. We have two resort days planned, three park days, and we also plan on going to MVMCP.
Is it a better use of money and time to pay for a pool view and go to one of the public viewing areas to view the animals on the savanna? It will be my husband, my twenty-year-old daughter and her friend from college. Also, in regards to a regular room with two queens and a deluxe studio villa with a queen and full-sized sofa bed, is the sofa bed comfortable in the studios and would it comfortably sleep two adults?
