Do you scrap both the good and the bad?

I know it is common to scrap the best pictures of vacation, the holidays, etc, but do you also scrap the not so good times, ie a hospital trip, getting a flat on the side of the road, the car breaking down on the way to a big vacation?

I have pcitures of our recent experience with lice, but I haven't scrapped it yet.:scared1: Wait that would mean actually having to scrap!:rotfl:

I scrap both. We have all of the fun stuff in there, but I also have when I screwed up my ankle several years ago. I also have journaling in the book from when I had Bell's Palsy a couple of years ago. I'm so behind in my family albums, though. . .there's lots of good and bad that hasn't been scrapped at all!! :rotfl:

Dyan--hmmm. . .wonder if Jolee makes a lice embellishment?!? :rotfl2:

good question lisa.

i take the pics with the intent to scrap them when i have the chance!!!!

here's my story to go with that....

yesterday i got my 1st ever call from the school nurse. she said she had my bubba in there and he had a little spill outside at recess. someone had pushed him and he went flying across the asphalt. put his tooth thru his lip the whole nine yards. my heart just sunk! i got in my car and drove like the wind to go get him. my heart was in my throat the whole way there. so he's got a big fat lip, cut on his nose, chin, forehead and hands. so after composing myself on the way home he and i were talking and he says "muma, can we get your camera when we get home and take some pics so we can remember the 1st time i got hurt at school!!!!"
dh says " boy do you have him trained!!!!!"
so i guess that will make a great page, right? i can say that now. now that i know he's ok, but if you would have asked me that earlier in the day i would have never said that!!!!!
sorry to go off topic, but that's the 1st thing that came to my mind when i read that ?.

I do for the most part as well. When my DD spent 3 days in the hospital in 05, I totally took my camera and took pictures of her. (Mostly as motivation to keep using the bathroom... long story...) It is a cute, but simple layout. I even saved the paperwork from the insurance company. :)

I don't think I've photographed anything bad to this point so I'd have to say no. :D

I photograph everything..and even the not so perfect pictures have a story behind them.. the only ones I will not scrap are the horribly fuzzy.. I take multiple shots of alot of things too..and I plan to make sure my kids have copies of all the photos..

PO3.. Your son is a riot!!! I have a photo of my DS when 2 years ago he was going to stop a break away.. got into position and was slammed with the charge (he took the charge)..but when he hit.. he turned his head to see how far /and hands were moving to break his fall.. well his head hit first.. WHAM! It echoed.. Mommy trying to remain calm and not freak out.. DH was assistant so he and coach ran to him.. DS got up w/ an EGG on his head.. by the time they had rolled him over he looked awful.. So, he want to still play.. NOPE.. all the mommies were saying no.. it was a tournament..so it was agreed if he got checked out at urgent care..than he could play later.. in the mean time.. our now coach who is a doctor showed up..evaluated..and he was fine..but I have the whopper on his eye photographed...

Uh, yea, my head is itching...so yuck! But I bet that would be a good lo!

Right there with ya! DD has come home 3 times with nits. I think I might scream, but I keep chanting the title for the page I am going to scrap in my head and it makes me giggle.... "2nd Grade- The Year of Bugs." The whole 2nd grade is just itching. And now me too.

I am going to scrap DD's dog bite, her brief stay in the hospital and DS's stay in the hospital. I have band aid paper and everything.

oooh band aid paper! i need that. who makes it if you don't mind me asking. that would be perfect for yesterday's event!!!!
thanks ashley.

Not at all! Karen Foster makes it and I just googled it and a ton of online stores came up with it. It is called 'bandages.' It is a perfect paper, I have it for both my kids!

Since I've been scrapbooking there haven't been any major problems to document but when I was doing my dads book last christmas I did have page in there of my brothers all bandaged up after different problems.

I guess having a boy I'll have plenty of opportunities to get some good not so good times in the book. LOL

Oh yeah Jenny.. those problems will be coming.. You'll have a lot of dirt pages too! We have an area by our shed.. that has NO grass..and actually we play baseball, kickball and soccer in our yard so much.. that you can actually see were our goals are on each end of the yard for soccer..and you can see the where the bases set for kickball, baseball.. and yep, we pick them up when we are done playing!

Oh yeah...I have gallstone pic, and when DS had his accident in August, we have pics of right after and the weeks of healing...

So, good and bad here too...

:scared: And I am itching right now too :lmao:

I'm trying to get better at scrapping not only the "not good" but the mundane. The every day stuff. I did an album track at CKU called the "Small & Simple Things" and it was themed to the everyday. Your home, stuff, food etc. It was great for me to step outside the box and do that.

no itching, thank God. Gross Dyan!!!!

I haven't scrapped them yet but I do have pics from when DS6 got his eye glued after hitting the table. And pics of DS7 on the back board on his way to the hospital after our accident.
But for the most part, I don't have a lot of pics of bad things.

no itching, thank God. Gross Dyan!!!!

Does this help the itch factor???:confused3 :teeth:
