Hello Everyone from sunny Ireland!

Quick question, and apologies I am sure it has been answered before.

I just received my luggage tags for ME but inside it says that if you are an international traveller and your first point of entry is Orlando then you need to collect your bags from reclaim and bring them to the ME desk. Is that correct? We will be flying to Orlando in three weeks but are going via Philadelpia (only to transfer flights) so I am wondering if it will be straight forward enough to figure out?

Thanks for your help in advance...Moira.

Hi

We went with ME last year and they gave us our tags. We did not need to collect our luggage as apparently baggage handling used to collect it for us and Disney used to bring the suitcases anytime. We waited for 4 hours before we got our luggage. We flew from Gatwick you have to collect your luggage from the first baggage re-claim and then just before you go through customs you have to put your luggage back through a conveyor belt if you were collecting your own luggage then you would need to wait yet again to collect your luggage, but we were told just go straight to the ME desk to catch your coach. I think many people have complained about the waiting times for luggage so perhaps they have changed it. If you have any doubt give them a call before you go. Normally as you come off the monor rail after customs there is a Disney Rep with a big Mickey Hand in the lobby waiting to direct people to ME desk. Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

I believe that as you are arriving on an internal flight and Orlando is not your first point of entry then your bags will automatically be collected, (if the airline you are flying on is park of the ME program).

If you are were flying direct to Orlando from the UK, then you would need to collect your bags at the first baggage reclaim to pass through imigration and security etc. (which you would have done in Philly :) ).

Hi Moira

We are also from Sunny Ireland and are heading out on Friday :cheer2:

Firstly you will have already cleared US immigration at Dublin airport so all you will have to do at Philly is collect your bags, go though customs then hand them back in again. The flight from Philly to Orlando is classed as an internal flight so you don't need to get the bags, ME will do this for you.

Hope you have a great time

Thanks Everyone for your help on this one!

TinkTatoo - have a great time! We haven't been before and are going to WDW first then to Port Canaveral for a Disney Cruise. Intend to be completely "disney-ised"!!

Moira.
