Question inspired by Extreme Couponing

What are the rules at your local grocery stores regarding coupons?

I shop at both Harris Teeter and Kroger.
Kroger will not double anything over $.50, so I rarely use coupons there.

HT will normally double 20 coupons a day that are $.99 or less. Every couple of months, they will do Super Doubles, where they will double up to $1.99 (still only 20) and Triple Coupons up to $.99 (still only 20).

Also HT will not go over the price of the item. For example, if a box of pasta is $.99 and you have a coupon for $.60 it will not double to $1.20, it will only take off $.99 to make the item free.

And Harris Teeter will only double 3 like coupons per day.

I shop almost exclusively at HT as it is the closest store to me.

I do bulk shop at Costco for meat, produce, dairy and a few other items we just prefer from there though.

We do not have any stores locally that I know of that will double or triple coupons.

I have enjoyed reading the threads and watching the shows where coupons can be doubled and tripled. Pretty Impressvie. It does make me want to try and see what I can save with coupons.

I think my local Safeway only doubles up and including 50 cents and my Giant double up to and including 99 cents.
Giant sometimes has 4 coupons in the advert that allows you to double $1 coupons (limit of 4 total, obviously).

I don't know if we have a limit on coupons, but if we do it is higher than 5 identical ones (for the same product) because that is the most I have used in one shopping order.

I don't have the time or energy to invest in this "extreme" couponing. Plus, I have no need for 100 Butterfingers or 76 jars of mustard.

My Wegmans doubles to $.99. I separate out my coupons based on that, because a $1.00 off at Walmart vs $.75 doubled at Wegmans is sometimes enough to sway me to buy something I normally get at Walmart at Wegmans.

Kroger is the only store around me that doubles coupons. Up to .50, unlimited doubling, unlimited like coupons, unlimited internet coupons. I can get overage on a coupon, without doubling. So if I have a bag of rice for .85, a .50 coupon will double only up to the price of the item or .85, not $1. No overage. But if I have a $1 coupon for the same item, i would get the full value of the coupon. .15 overage. I don't think my store would give me cash back on overage though. I would have to buy something to cover the overage.

I'm in Maryland, and we have Safeway and Giant, which someone already answered for. We also have Shoppers Food Warehouse, which will double any coupon up to .99, face value on $1 and up. They limit "like" coupons to 4, but they do accept IPs and all that.

Food Lion accepts pretty much anything, up to 10 "like" coupons, but doesn't double.

I don't think either one does overages.

SFW is the only one I know of around here that doubles at all, except the other three sometimes put "doublers" in their flyers.

Oh, we also have WEIS, which "sometimes" will double at certain locations on certain days, but only up to 4 "like" coupons.

And nobody around here lets you stack 2 or more manufacturer coupons.

Hmmm. They must have changed their policy. It's been about 2 years since I moved from PA and I used to shop at Weis all the time. They would double only up to $1(meaning a .75 coupon would double to $1 not $1.50). They would accept unlimited like coupons, but only double the first 4. But they doubled every day.

I don't go there all that often, but am going off their published policy on the website. I used to really like it when they would have the "triplers" promotions, but I hardly ever even see their flyers in the newspapers anymore.

They take them. That is it. Face value, no doubling or more. They take internet coupons. No limit, only limited by the very few coupons we can find.

Same with Kroger here (Clarksville, TN). Food Lion doesn't double. Any Publix info would be appreciated. They're building one right down the road from me.

Unfortunately I don't have a store anywhere near me that doubles coupons!

ShopRite doubles coupons up to $.99. They take internet coupons. I don't know if they have limits on number of coupons they will double, or number of like coupons. I believe I have used up to 4 like coupons (never really have more than that), and I have never had any that didn't double because I was over the limit of double coupons.
