Try calling the health department. If you are in need (elderly etc.) they will do a one time drop usually for free. If you aren't sure where to get the number try calling your local police department. Their switchboard should be able to direct you. Good Luck! princess:
 
Here in Indiana, you would contact your local township trustee. They offer assistance to families. Perhaps there are trustees where you live too. At the power company where I worked, the trustees sometimes made electric payments on behalf of needy families. Also the power company would offer special agreements in that a family could pay a portion of their power bill, and then the rest at a later date. Other utilities may do this as well. If you speak to their utility, perhaps they could give you more info on where they can turn for help.

Also if they need assistance in regard to food, some churches have food pantries. Ours does. Also our county has a good cheer program that gives food out.
