Hi all just booked Caribbean beach today for me hubby and our two children, because we are booking from the u.k our Virgin holidays consultant will call tomorrow for any requests or questions.
From what I've read I understand Caribbean beach is a large resort so was looking for advice on requesting where to stay as my children are only 3 and 5 years old and after a long day at the parks I'm worried about a long walk for little legs to get back to our room.
Any tips would be very much appreciated thanks!

I would have your agent book a preferred room. It will cost a bit more, but to me it is well worth it. CBR is a very large resort, and without booking preferred you can have a good walk to the main pool and food court.

I presume you have a budget in mind for you room. If I remember correctly they have a bus throughout the resort ??? But I remember it being too big.

The resort itself has 7 bus stops. They do have a shuttle bus that just makes loops around the resort. I stayed at CBR once in a non preferred room, and swore never again. I hated the walk to the front to get my mug refilled or to grab something from the food court. After a long day in the parks it was more of a walk then I wanted to deal with.

We had a standard room, not preferred, and requested Martinique. We were very close to the Martinique pool, the bus stop and a short walk from Old Port Royale. Our bus stop sometimes was the first stop, other times it was the middle stop. We usually got a seat right away. We were there in June.

You may find the CBR information thread helpful. It has a good map with all of the buildings, pools, and bus stops laid out. Here's a link : http://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-caribbean-beach-resort-information-questions.3348628/

There are bus stops close to most of the rooms, but it can be a bit of a trek go OPR from your room if you end up in one of the furthest buildings. If you don't want to pay extra for a preferred room, Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 are just across the pedestrian bridge from OPR. You don't mention your dates, but that bridge is currently being refurbed so guests are urged to use the internal bus. The CBR thread will have info on when the bridge will reopen.

Martinique is the closest, Trinidad north is not as close. All the bus stops are close to the rooms so not to bad walking back. We just got back from there and had a good time. The bridge will reopen at the end of November or the first of December. Have fun it's a nice place

Don't forget you can get the bus or drop off at Old Port Royale, so you can walk there in the morning or back to your room after getting a meal or drinks. That can be better than going to the room and facing another walk to the food court.

First of all, Welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

Congrats on booking CBR. It's our favorite moderate and the splash area will be awesome for your kids. Every village has its own bus stop so you won't have a long walk back to your room after a long day in the parks no matter where your room is. Our favorite location is Jamaica 45 with Aruba 51 right behind it. Both are a 3-4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR and the Main Feature Pool. It's a beautiful stroll in the morning as the sun comes up over OPR. We prefer Jamaica 45 over Aruba 51 because the bright yellow exteriors of the Jamaica buildings just scream Caribbean. We always book standard, have stayed in every village and don't feel there is a "bad" location.

I suggest checking out the very informative CBR FAQ Thread. The first page should answer just about any questions you might have. And if you do have any more, there's plenty of helpful posters to answer them.

Thanks for all your help guys! We are not going till September 2016 but have to request anything early.
Because we are traveling from the uk the trip has already cost lots of penny's
So don't think my hubby will let me sway him to paying for a preferred room

Thank you for all your tips I will request to stay in Jamaica!

My husband and I got married at the WDW wedding pavilion in 2007 and disbords was the best help in the world!
Can't wait to return to the magic with our two little additions and the fun of planning on disbords x
