I'm just in the process of signing all of the DVC paperwork. I'm noticing that it may be better financially to rent my points and use the money to pay for my cruise. There seem to be a bunch of people willing to purchase a DVC vacation from members. With the risk inherent in that transaction, why don't they just call CRO and make their ressies? CRO offers the DVC resort rooms.

Thanks in advance!

Because CRO is about $250 to $300 for a studio.

When renting during a Sun-Thur they can be had at $10 to $11 per point for as low as 8 to 13 points. so You looking at $80 to $143 per night during the week.

Before you decide to post your points for rent, read several of the threads over there. Reservations for rent, points for rent, reservation needed. Get an idea of what you are getting yourself into. Read the post from the non-member on the Operations board about not finding any member who will accept Paypal.

If you post that they are for rent at $11 a point, some will ask for $10 a point. If you post at $10 a point, some will ask for $9 a point. You will get shoppers looking for the cheapest deal. You will get people who have no idea about points expiring, banking deadlines, they want to cancel, etc.

It's not as easy as you think. If you have a friend or co-worker, that might be the best way to go.
